  • question_answer
Y, K and \[\eta \] represent respectively the Youngs modulus, bulk modulus and rigidity modulus of a body. If rigidity modulus is twice the bulk modulus, then:

    A)  \[Y=\frac{5}{18}K\]

    B)  \[Y=\frac{5}{8}\eta \]

    C)  \[Y=\frac{9}{5}K\]

    D)  \[Y=\frac{18}{5}K\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                     Given: \[\eta =2K.\] The relation between Y,K and \[\eta \]is expressed as \[Y=\frac{9K\eta }{3K+\eta }\] Now, putting the given value \[\eta =2K\]in above expression, we obtain \[Y=\frac{9K\times 2K}{3K+2K}=\frac{18{{K}^{2}}}{5K}=\frac{18K}{5}\]
