    Solution :

                     From \[I={{({{a}_{1}}+{{a}_{2}})}^{2}}\] \[={{(a+a)}^{2}}\] \[=4{{a}^{2}}\] When one slit is closed \[I={{a}^{2}}\]                 \[\therefore \]                  \[\frac{I}{I}=\frac{4{{a}^{2}}}{{{a}^{2}}}=4\]                 or                            \[I=\frac{I}{4}\]
