In a transistor in common-emitter configuration, the ratio of power gain to voltage gain is

    A)  \[\alpha \]

    B)  \[\frac{\beta }{\alpha }\]

    C)  \[\beta \times \beta \]

    D)  \[\beta \]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

In a common-emitter configuration, the  voltage gaiips-defined as the ratio of change in the output voltage to the change in input  voltage. \[{{A}_{V}}\text{= }\beta \times resistance\text{ }gain\] ?.(ii) Also, power gain is defined as the ratio of the change in the output power to the change in  input power.                             \[{{A}_{p}}={{\beta }^{2}}\times resistance\text{ }gain\] ....(ii) Dividing Eq. (ii) by Eq. (i), we get \[\frac{{{A}_{P}}}{{{A}_{V}}}=\beta \]
