  • question_answer
A body of mass \[10\text{ }kg\]is acted upon by two forces each of magnitude \[10\,\,N\]making an angle of \[{{60}^{o}}\] with each other. Find the net acceleration of the body.

    A)  \[2\sqrt{3}m/{{s}^{2}}\]

    B)   \[\sqrt{3}m/{{s}^{2}}\]

    C)  \[3\sqrt{3}m/{{s}^{2}}\]

    D)   \[4\sqrt{3}m/{{s}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    \[{{F}_{net}}=\sqrt{F_{1}^{2}+F_{2}^{2}+2{{F}_{1}}{{F}_{2}}\,\,\cos \,\,\theta }\] \[=\sqrt{{{(10)}^{2}}+{{(10)}^{2}}+2\times 10\times 10\times \cos \,{{60}^{o}}}\] \[=\sqrt{100+100+100}=10\sqrt{3}\] Mass of the body \[=10\text{ }kg\] \[\therefore \] \[Acceleration=\frac{force}{mass}\] \[=\frac{10\sqrt{3}}{10}=\sqrt{3}m/{{s}^{2}}\]
