    Solution :

    Given, \[n(P)=40,\,n(C)=30\] \[n(P\cap C)=15\] \[n(P\cup C)=n(P)+n(C)-n(P\cap C)\] \[=40+30-15=40+15=55\] \[\therefore \] Number of student in the group is 55.
