Which of the following characteristics out of A, B and C arc exhibited by \[{{C}_{4}}\]plants?
    A. Kranz anatomy
B.The product of photosynthesis is oxaloacetic acid
    C. Both PEP carboxylase and Ribulose- bisphosphate carboxylase act as carboxy- lating enzymes
    The correct answer is:

    A)  only A and B, but not C

    B)  only B and C, but not A

    C)  only A and C, but not B

    D)  all A, B and C

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

\[{{C}_{4}}\] plants are characterised by Kranz type of anatomy i.e., chloroplast containing mesophyll cells and bundle sheath cells. The phosphoenol pyruvate in mesophyll cells combine with \[C{{O}_{2}}\]in presence of PEP carboxylase and forms oxalo acetic acid. The product of photosynthesis is starch.
