                    The average cranial capacity of Homo erectus was 900 cc. Homo erectus were of three types-  Java man (Pithecanthropus erectus or Homo erectus erectus)-Cranial capacity was 940 cc, which is intermediate between Australopithecus (600-700 cc) and modem man (1400-1600 cc).  Peking man (Homo erectus pekinensis or Pithecanthropus pekinensis   or Sinanthropus pekinensis)       - Cranial capacity was 850-1200 cc.  Heidelberg man (Homo erectus heidelbergensis). Cranial capacity was probably about 1300 cc.
