    A)  pyramid of numbers

    B)  pyramid of biomass

    C)  pyramid of energy

    D)  None of the above

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

A pyramid of numbers is a graphical representation of the numbers of individuals in each population in a food chain. Often, the autotrophic level in a pyramid of numbers is much larger than any of the higher trophic levels and the numbers decreases upon ascending the pyramid. However, there are exceptions, eg, in a tree community, a single tree could support many different populations of larger numbers. Whereas pyramid of biomass show how much biomass is present in the organisms at each trophic level and pyramid of energy depicts the flow of energy from the producer through the various consumers.
