Oparin-Haldanes view on the origin of life was first experimentally recognised by

    A)  Malthus

    B)  Plato

    C)  Louis Pasteur

    D)  Stanley L Miller

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Oparin and Haldane proposed that the first form of life could have come from pre-existing non-living organic molecules (eg, RNA, protein, etc) and that formation of life was preceded by chemical evolution, ie, formation of diverse organic molecules from inorganic constituents. The conditions on Earth were-high temperature, volcanic storms, reducing atmosphere containing \[C{{H}_{4}},\text{ }N{{H}_{3}},\]etc. In 1953, S L Miller, created similar conditions in a laboratory scale and with this evidence, chemical evolution was more or less accepted.
