Which of the following takes place in DNA fingerprinting?

    A)  A positive identification can be made

    B)  Multiple restriction enzyme digests/generates unique fragments

    C)  The polymerase chain reaction amplifies fewer DNA

    D)  The verability of repeated sequences between two restriction sites is evaluated

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The procedure of DNA fingerprinting involve, isolation of DNA molecule, if DNA is in poor condition STR (Simple Tandem Repeats) may be amplified by making many copies of it with help of using polymerase chain reaction. Now DNA molecule and cleaved at specific sites by restriction endonuclease enzyme for the purpose of RFLA (Restriction Fragment Length Analysis) Now DNA fragment are sorted out by electrophorasis and by using southern blotting technique and audio-radiography, DNA profiles are obtained.
