Two plants one with black flower and other with white coloured flower were crossed in an experiment. In next generation grey coloured flowers were obtained The reason for the result is

    A)  incomplete dominance

    B)  pseudo-dominance

    C)  codominance

    D)  None of the above

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

When two plants one with black flower and other with white flower were crossed in an experiment.   In   next   \[{{F}_{1}}-\]generation   the intermediate grey colour flower were obtained. The reason for the result is incomplete dominance (exception of law of dominance). In this case the gene of an allelomorphic pair are not expressed as recessive or dominant but express themselves partially and are present together in hybrid. But when\[{{F}_{2}}-\] generation are raised by the crossing of\[{{F}_{1}}\]hybrid, the phenotypic ratio\[1:2:1\] is obtained, which is identical to the genotypic ratio.
