Which of the following carbocations is resonance stabilised?

    A)

    B)

    C)                 \[\text{a}-\text{3b}\]

    D) \[|a|=2\sqrt{2},|b|=3\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

They cycio propyl carbanion is antiaromatic, delocalisation of negative charge is not favoured. In the phenyl anion, the negative charge is in \[\text{37}.\text{5}\times \text{1}{{0}^{\text{5}}}\]orbital, hence the delocalisation of negative charge is not possible. Benzyl carbanion is most stable as it is stablised by resonance.
