A) testes of frog
B) kidney of frog
C) kidney of rabbit
D) Both [a] and [c]
Correct Answer: B
Solution :
The kidney of frog are mesonephric. They are elongated, flat and reddish brown structures with outer edges smooth and convex but inner edge notched and straight. Each kidney is a compact mass of innumerable highly twisted microscopic uriniferous tubules or nephrons. Its proximal or closed end have Bowman's capsule, while the other end opens into collecting tubule. All the transverse collecting tubules open towards inner margin of kidney into a longitudinal Bidder's canal. Testes of frog is an elongated or ovoid-light yellow body attached to the anteroventral surface of each kidney by a double fold of peritoneum called mesorchium. Each testis is a compact mass of much coiled seminiferous tubules, the epithelial lining of which produces Spermatozoa by spermatogenesis. The two kidneys of rabbit are small reddish-brown, bean-shaped organs attached to the dorsal abdominal wall behind the pericardium one on either side of the vertebral column. The kidneys are metanephric. The kidney is made up of innumerable, fine, long, much convoluted tubular units called uriniferous tubules or nephrons. You need to login to perform this action.
