JEE Main & Advanced JEE Main Paper (Held On 10 April 2016)

  • question_answer
A,B,C and D are four different physical quantities having different dimensions. None of them is dimensionless. But we know that the equation AD = C in (BD) holds ture .Then which of the combination is not a meaningful quantity?   JEE Main Online Paper (Held On 10 April 2016)

    A) \[{{A}^{2}}-{{B}^{2}}{{C}^{2}}\]

    B) \[\frac{A}{B}-C\]

    C) \[\frac{C}{BD}-\frac{A{{D}^{2}}}{C}\]

    D) \[\frac{(A-C)}{D}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                 (BD)\[AD=C\ell n(BD)\] \[(B)\,(D)\to \]dimensionless \[\left[ AD \right]=\left[ C \right]\] Checking options one by one \[\frac{A-C}{D}\]dimensions of A are not same as dimensions of C. Meaningless
