JEE Main & Advanced Physics Two Dimensional Motion JEE PYQ - Two Dimensional Relative Motion

  • question_answer
Two fixed frictionless inclined planes making an angle\[30{}^\circ \]and\[60{}^\circ \]with the vertical are shown in the figure. Two blocks A and B are placed on the two planes. What is the relative vertical acceleration of A with respect to B?                                                        [AIEEE 2010]

    A) (a)\[4.9\text{ }m{{s}^{2}}\]in vertical direction

    B) (b)\[4.9\text{ }m{{s}^{2}}\] in horizontal direction

    C) (c)\[9.8\text{ }m{{s}^{2}}\]in vertical direction

    D) Zero

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    [a] \[{{a}_{{{A}_{vertical}}}}=g{{\sin }^{2}}{{60}^{o}}=\frac{3g}{4}\]
    \[{{a}_{{{B}_{vertical}}}}=g{{\sin }^{2}}{{30}^{o}}=\frac{g}{4}\]
    So,\[{{a}_{AB}}=\frac{g}{2}=4.9\,m{{s}^{-2}}vertical\]
