    For a reaction, \[{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{6}}(l)+\frac{15}{2}{{O}_{2}}(g)\xrightarrow{{}}3{{H}_{2}}O(l)+6{{O}_{2}}(g);\] \[\Delta H=-\,3264.6\,\,kJ\] Heat evolved when 39 g of \[{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{6}}\] are burnt is:

    A)  2448.45 kJ

    B)        6528.2 KJ

    C)         1632.3 kJ

    D)         816.15 kJ

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{6}}(l)+\frac{15}{2}{{O}_{2}}(g)\xrightarrow{{}}3{{H}_{2}}O(l)+6C{{O}_{2}};\,(9)\] \[\Delta H=-3264.6\,kJ\] \[6\times 12+6\times 1=78\] \[\because \] 78 g benzene, on heating gives = 3264.6 kJ energy \[\therefore \] 39 g benzene, on heating will give \[=\frac{3264.6\times 39}{78}=1632.3\,kJ\]
