    Bhopal gas tragedy occured (3 Dec 1984) when methyl isocynate (MIC) reacted with water in a tank, an exothermic chemical reaction started and producing a lot of heat. As a result, the safety value of tank burst because of increase in pressure. It gave rise to a heavy gas, that rank to the ground.
