                     DDT (Dichloro Diphenyl Trichloroethane) was synthesized by a German student and rediscolvercd by Dr, Paul Muller. It was used in National Malaria Eradication Programme to kill Anophcks  mosquitoes. This programme got good response in early sixtees but suffered a setback after a decade.
