                The distance between any two nearest neighbours is \[\sqrt{{{\left( \frac{a}{2} \right)}^{2}}+{{\left( \frac{a}{2} \right)}^{2}}+{{\left( \frac{a}{2} \right)}^{2}}}=\sqrt{\frac{3{{a}^{2}}}{4}}\,\]
    \[=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}\,a\]
