    Exp. [b] The Teesta river originates from the Pahunri glacier above 7068 metres and flows southward through gorges and rapids in the Sikkim Himalaya. Pahunri is a mountain in the Eastern Himalayas located on the border of Sikkim, India and Tibet, China, and is situated about 75 km North-East of Kangchenjunga. Teesta River is a tributary of the Jamuna river (Brahmaputra), flowing through India and Bangladesh. Brahmaputra finally merges into Bay of Bengal. The Rangeet is a tributary of the Teesta river, which is the largest river in the Indian State of Sikkim. The Rangeet river originates in the Himalayan mountains in West Sikkim district. The river also forms the boundary between Sikkim and Darjeeling district.
