    B) If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.

    C) If Assertion is true but Reason is false.

    D) If both Assertion and Reason are false.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

In apical dominance presence of apical bud does not allow the lateral buds to grow. It is due to auxin hormone which synthesized in tip and transfer to lateral buds where it does not allow the lateral buds to grow. This can be seen when a pest of auxin is painted on the cut end of the decapitated shoot.
