    Solution :

    The resistance of two arms on the opposite comers of a square = R + R = 2R. Therefore, for equivalent resistance between two opposite comers of a square, we have two resistance each of value 2R in parallel. So, \[\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{2R}+\frac{1}{2R}\] \[\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1+1}{2R}=\frac{2}{2R}\] \[R=R\]
