Aleurone is the delimiting layer of endosperm in grain of monocots. It is rich in nutrients particularly niacin, group of vitamin-B, minerals and proteins. In angiosperms, the endosperm is triploid as derived by triple fusion, ie, by fusion of second male gamete with secondary nucleus (2 n). The megaspore mother cells is diploid in nature which undergoes meiosis to form four haploid megaspores. The endosperm in gymnosperms is haploid as synthesise before fertilisation.
