    Linkage groups all of genes on a single chromosome inherited on group. Several of these groups (number of chromosomes) called linkage groups. Coupling and repulsion, although, was found by Bateson but couldn't explain the reason why, which was genes tend to be inherited on a group when present on a chromosome sometimes because of their close proximity to each other. Chromosomal theory of inheritance identified chromosomes as the genetic material responsible for mendelian inheritance given by Sutton Boveri. Gene Map representation of the structure of a single gene was given by Morgan.
