                    Sickle cell anaemia is a genetic disorder reported from negroes due to a molecular mutation of gene HbA on chromosome 11 (autosome) which produces the p-chain of haemoglobin. In sickle cell anaemia the sixth amino acid of haemoglobin (.i.e., glutamic acid) is replaced by valine.
