  • question_answer
A solid maintained at \[{{t}^{o}}_{1}C\]is kept in an evacuated chamber at temperature\[{{t}^{o}}_{2}C\]\[({{t}_{2}}>>{{t}_{1}}).\]The rate of heat absorbed by the body is proportional to

    A)  \[t_{2}^{4}-t_{1}^{4}\]

    B)  \[(t_{2}^{4}+273)-(t_{1}^{4}+273)\]

    C)  \[{{t}_{2}}-{{t}_{1}}\]

    D)  \[t_{2}^{2}-t_{1}^{2}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

As we know that, the rate of cooling is \[\frac{d\theta }{dt}=bA(\theta -{{\theta }_{0}})\] Where \[bA=\]constant \[\Rightarrow \] \[\frac{d\theta }{dt}\propto \theta -{{\theta }_{0}}\] Also \[-\frac{dT}{dt}\propto T-{{T}_{0}}\] where. T = temperature and   £= time So, the rate of heat absorbed by cooled body is proportional to \[{{t}_{2}}-{{t}_{1}}.\]
