Classification is a process to group things with similar properties. Some more examples are given below to get better understanding of this topic.
A set of four things is given below:

(c) Potato (d) Orange
Answer: (c) Among these four, potato is the only vegetable so we can take it out from the group of four.
Similarly take another example of four things:
(a) Chocolate (b) Ice-cream
(c) Sugar (d) Chowmein
Answer: (d) Chowmein is the only eatable item which is not sweet in taste in the group, so we can classify it in sour-tasting eatables.
