    B)  Both A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A

    C)  A is true, but R is false

    D)  A is false, but R is true

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

According to the Law of Torts, Assertion (A) is correct because government cannot be held liable for the torts committed by its servant, unless and until the tortuous act is committed by a government servant in the course of employment. Reason (R) is correct and it is the correct explanation of A, because master is liable for the tortious acts committed by his servant during the course of employment.
