  • question_answer
A wire, bent in the form of a square, encloses an area of \[484\,\,c{{m}^{2}}.\] if the same wire is bent so as to form a circle, then the areas enclosed will be \[\left( \text{Use}\,\pi =\frac{22}{7} \right)\]

    A)  \[484\,\,c{{m}^{2}}\]

    B)  \[538\frac{2}{7}\,\,c{{m}^{2}}\]

    C)  \[616\,\,c{{m}^{2}}\]

    D)  \[644\,\,c{{m}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Area of the square \[=484\,\,c{{m}^{2}}\] \[\therefore \] Side of the square \[=\sqrt{484}=22\,cm\] \[\therefore \] Length of the wire = Perimeter of square             \[=4\times 22\]             \[=88\,cm\] Let the radius of the circle be r cm             \[2\pi r=88\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[2\times \frac{22}{7}\times r=88\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[r=\frac{88\times 7}{2\times 22}=14\,cm\] \[\therefore \] Required area \[=\pi {{r}^{2}}\]             \[=\frac{22}{7}\times 14\times 14\]             \[=616\,c{{m}^{2}}\]
