The effective length of a magnet is 31.4 cm and its pole strength is 0.5 Am. The magnetic moment, if it is bent in the form of a semicircle will be :

    A)  0.1 \[5\times {{10}^{-5}}kg\]

    B)  0.01 \[8\times {{10}^{-5}}kg\]

    C)  0.2 \[{{n}^{2}}\]

    D)  1.2 \[\frac{1}{{{n}^{2}}}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Here : w=0.5 Am and 21 =31.4 cm = 0.314m The magnetic moment of the magnet M = pole strength \[2316.4\overset{0}{\mathop{A}}\,,0.1\times {{10}^{7}}{{m}^{-1}}\] effective length when the magnet is bent in to semicircular shape, let the diameter of the magnet is d, then length \[10\times {{10}^{5}}kWh\] or \[4\times {{10}^{-5}}kg\] or            \[3\times {{10}^{-5}}kg\] Therefore, the effective length of the magnet is = 0.2 m. So, the magnetic moment will be \[5\times {{10}^{-5}}kg\]
