Effects of noise on human behaviour are the following:

(1) People adopt or ?get used" to noise whether loud or soft when simple mental task like addition of numbers is being performed. Noise does not affect overall performance.

(2) In very interesting task, the presence of noise does not affect performance. As the nature of task helps the person to pay full attention and ignore the noise.

(3) Noise when comes at interval and in unpredictable way is experienced as more disturbing than continuous one.

(4) When task is difficult and requires full concentration, then intense, unpredictable and uncontrollable noise reduces the task performance.

(5) When noise can be controlled, then the number of errors in task performance decreases.

(6) In terms of emotional effects, noise above a certain level causes annoyance and can lead to sleep disturbance.

Three Situational factors leading to aggression are:

(1) Learning: Aggression is the result of learning largely. Learning can take place in many modes. Individuals may show aggression because they have found it rewarding (direct reinforcement). Individuals can also learn to be aggressive by observing others showing aggression that is, learning through modelling.

(2) Personality factors: Some people are naturally more hot-tempered and show more aggression than others. It has been observed that people with low self-esteem and who feel insecure may behave aggressively in order to ?boost their ego?. While people with high self-esteem may show aggression because they feel that others do not place them at the high-level at which have placed themselves.

(3) Availability of weapons: Researches have found that observing violence leads to a greater likelihood of aggression on the part of the observer only if weapons of aggression like a stick, pistol or knife are easily available.
