    Why did the developing countries organize the G-77? Give three reasons.

    Answer:

    The developing countries of the world organise the G-77 because:
    (i) Developing countries are getting nothing from the growth and development of western economy along with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF). So, they need to organize them as G-77 group and they need New International Economic Order (NIEO).
    (ii) NIEO provides developing countries to control   their own resources, helps in the development and the fair pricing of their raw materials and develops market to access the manufacturing goods.
    (iii) G-77 wanted a change in the international financial system which was proposed by Bretton Woods conference. There was no work done for the eradication of poverty and there was no development in their colonies.

    Before the age of machine industries, the foreign trade from India was conducted as follows:
    (i) India was dominant over the international market in textile products. It?s silk and cotton goods were the best in the world. India had the trade relations with Persia, Armenia, Afghanistan and Central Asia.
    (ii) Camels were used to transport bales of silk and cotton through the roads, the mountain passes and the deserts.
    (iii) India was famous for trade by sea ways. Surat was very famous port city for sea trade with the different regions like the Gulf and Europe. Another trade centres were Coromandel Coast and hoogly river in Bengal to the South East Asian countries.

    Three features of the big modern city of Calcutta fascinated the Gods as described in the novel written by Durgacharan Roy are as follows:
    (i) In the novel, Debganer Martye Aagaman (The    gods visit on earth) he described that Brahma (creator) took a train to Calcutta with some other Gods like Varuna, (the rain god), and got   impressed with the modernization of the city.
    (ii) The Gods were amazed by the big modern city, trains, ships and huge factories etc.
    (iii) Gods were impressed by the extraordinary lifestyle and wealth that they decided to build museum and high court in the heaven.
