 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P.Sharma Oli will jointly inaugurate Motihari-Amlekhgunj cross border petroleum products pipeline. The 69 km long pipeline from Motihari in Bihar to Amlekhgunj in Nepal has been constructed by India. This is the first transnational petroleum pipeline form India and first South Asian oil pipeline corridor. The pipeline will ensure smooth, cost-effective and environment-friendly supply of petroleum products to Nepal. The pipeline will save billions of rupees every year on transportation, leakage and expected to make a significant contribution to the prosperity of Nepal and its people.

  A fun zone, the first of its kind in India, has been set up by the Railways at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station, Andhra Pradesh. The Gaming zone was inaugurated at platform number 1. The children can enjoy games during their waiting period for trains. The gaming zone has different interesting games for children & adults. The fun zone will have all the high-tech gaming activities at par with game parlours.

TIFF also provides the ideal platform for the global outreach of the 50th International Film Festival of India 2019.

  Asia’s first 5th Generation – Virtual Reality based Advanced Driver Training Simulator Centre was launched at the Automobile Association of Southern India Centre (AASI), Chennai. In the first 6 months, AASI will train 200 Ambulance drivers free of cost, under ‘Safe Drivers Campaign’. The simulator was ideated, designed and developed by Chennai based Red Chariots Technologies Pvt Ltd.

  Indian Cricket team vice-captain Rohit Sharma is launching Rohit4Rhinos campaign, in partnership with WWF India and Animal Planet. This campaign helps to build awareness for the need to conserve the Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros or the Indian Rhino. The Indian rhinoceros faces several threats, including poaching, habitat loss and mass mortality from inbreeding and disease.

  In collaboration with National Disaster Response Force, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under Department of Youth Affairs of MoYAS will prepare Block Level Disaster Response Teams. The team has been constituted for Disaster Risk Reduction. The trained NYKS Youth Volunteers will work as DRTs and will be called as ‘NDRF- friends’. NYKS Youth Volunteers for Disaster Risk Reduction will act as first responders in NDRF selected hazard prone districts. The volunteer groups will provide initial rescue and relief services. They will also act as link between the affected community and institutions like National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, police, fire services etc arriving at the scene.

 The Income Tax Department announced that it will automatically issue PAN to all taxpayers who do not have a Permanent Account Number and are using Aadhaar for filing income tax returns (ITR). Under this new Aadhaar-PAN rule, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) will obtain demographic information from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and issue a new Permanent Account Number (PAN).

  Khadi and Village Industries Commission has launched a ‘Terracotta Grinder’ at Sewapuri in Varanasi. The machine will be able to grind the wasted and broken pottery items for re-using in pottery-making. This Terracotta grinder will make grinding of wasted pottery items faster than the traditional mortar and pestle. It will lessen the cost of production, and will also help in solving the problem of shortage of clays. On the occasion, KVIC also distributed 200 Electric Potter Wheels and other pottery machines among the villagers.

This event is organised to showcase the culture of the Pacific countries. There was also showcase of the International Solar Alliance and Pollinate Energy based in Australia, Nepal and India and solar lanterns from Barefoot College in Rajasthan.
