  The National Water Mission organized the inaugural session of the workshop on “Increasing Water Use Efficiency in Industries”. The workshop on “Increasing Water Use Efficiency in Industries” was held in New Delhi. The National Water Mission organized the workshop under the initiative “HarKaamDeshkeNaam”. During the workshop, U.P. Singh, the Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation emphasized on the adoption of the Corporate Water Responsibility (CWR) as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) provisions. He also stated that India is drawing 2.5 times more ground water than what seeps down under to maintain the water table level an this is the key reason we are facing the water scarcity.

  The 35th edition of AAHAR – the Food and Hospitality fair began in New Delhi. This fair is being organized by India Trade Promotion Organisation, ITPO, with support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Agriculture and Processed Food Products Development Authority and several apex industry associations. This year, the fair will feature a wide range of food products, machinery, hospitality, Food and Beverage Equipment and Decoration items, and Confectionery items from over 750 participants from India and overseas. In the foreign category, the fair will witness participation from countries, including Hong Kong, Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, UK and UAE. The event will also offer an insight into operational and food safety concerns and innovations to become energy-efficient, finding budget-friendly raw materials boosting productivity, while still aiming for greater profitability.

  Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah inaugurated the National Security Guard (NSG) Regional Hub campus at Kolkata, West Bengal. It aims to provide adequate facilities to the brave NSG jawans. He also various welfare projects for NSG, amounting to over Rs. 245 crores, across Kolkata, Manesar, Chennai, and Mumbai. It will ensure to boost the capabilities of the force and raising the morale of the jawans. NSG Regional Hub campus is worth over Rs.162 crores. It has become a model regional hub of the NSG, which will help in honing the professional acumen of the NSG commandos. It will contribute significantly to the capacity building of the first responders, the Police forces of the States. The campus will hold the responsibility of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and the entire North-Eastern region.

  Minister of State (I/C) for Labour and Employment, Santosh Gangwar has launched a mobile application named ‘Fuel Humsafar’ for delivery of diesel at doorsteps of Housing societies, hotels and hospitals in the national capital region. The app will be used for the fuel delivery services to housing societies, hotels, hospitals, malls, construction sites, industries, banquets and other bulk buyers of diesel in various NCR cities, including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Hapur, Kundli, Manesar, and Bahadurgarh. Humsafar has 12 bowser tankers in varying capacity from 4 kilolitres to 6 kilolitres and an experienced team of 35 people.

  The multilingual version of “Incredible India” website and mobile app has been launched by the Minister of State (IC) for Tourism & Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel in New Delhi. The new version of the website and mobile app of “Incredible India” has been launched in three new languages i.e. Chinese, Arabic and Spanish. The new version of the website and mobile app of “Incredible India” aims to attract tourists from Chinese, Arabic and Spanish speaking regions. Inclusion of three languages aims to showcase the tourism products of India on a global platform. It also seeks to increase tourism awareness, attractions and opportunities by facilitating tourists with personalised and contextual digital experiences. The multilingual website also features the 360 degree-experience-based walk-throughs and stories and experiences of the tourists in various aspects such as Food & Cuisine, Heritage, Nature and Wildlife, Luxury, Spiritual, Adventure, Art, Shopping and many more. The “Incredible India” website was earlier hosted in only two languages i.e. English & Hindi.

  “EKAM Fest” has been organised in New Delhi to promote Craftsmanship & Products of Divyang Artisans and Entrepreneurs. National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) has organised the exhibition-cum-Fair under the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry. The NHFDC foundation is working to develop a brand and platform for marketing of products made by Divyang Artisans and Entrepreneurs. The name of the brand has been chosen as “EKAM”. EKAM signifies Entrepreneurship, Knowledge, Awareness, Marketing. EKAM Fest organised by NHFDC is an initiative to promote entrepreneurship along with knowledge among Divyangjan community. It also aims to generate awareness among society about potentialities of PwDs as well as providing them major marketing opportunities. The fest will feature the participation of the Divyang Entrepreneur and Artisans from all over the country. The fest will also feature the products from Jammu & Kashmir and North East, ranging from handloom, handicraft, Embroidery work and dry fruits.

  The Union Minister of State PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Jitendra Singh inaugurated the ‘Pension Adalat’ and National Pension System (NPS) Awareness and Grievance Redressal Programme in Jammu. This is the first time that Pension Adalat is being conducted outside Delhi as the government wants to reach out to every part of society and every part of the country to get the grievances redressed in the real-time as aspired by the Prime Minister. The Pension Adalats will help in on-the-spot redressal of pensioners’ grievances which has given the right of ‘Ease of Living’ to the pensioners. The Minister also launched ‘Do You Know’ Twitter Series on Family Pension, along with a booklet highlighting case studies with the interpretation of Pension Rules.

  President of the United States (POTUS) Donald Trump has arrived in India on 24th February 2020. He was accompanied by the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump. With this, Donald Trump has become the first serving US President to visit Gujarat. After his arrival, the US president was welcomed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After welcome, the cavalcade of US president head towards Sabarmati Ashram. After reaching the Sabarmati Ashram, the US president and the first lady of US spun the Charkha and then head towards the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad for “Namaste Trump” event.
  • “NAMASTE TRUMP” Event:
Following the Sabarmati Ashram visit, both the leaders arrived at the world’s largest cricket stadium “Sardar Patel Stadium” which is also known as “Motera Stadium” to attend and address the “NAMASTE TRUMP” event. The “NAMASTE TRUMP” event featured cultural performances.
  • Taj Mahal Visit:
Following the “NAMASTE TRUMP” event, the US delegate landed at Kheria Airport, Agra, Uttar Pradesh to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world, i.e. the iconic “Taj Mahal” in Agra. At the airport, the US President and the first lady were received by Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel. The US President and the first lady arrived at the iconic Taj Mahal and admired the beauty of the historical monument. After the Taj Mahal visit, the US delegates returned to Delhi for the rest of their trip.

 The Indian Railways recently launched Hindi Version of Artificial Intelligence-based chatbot called “ASKDISHA”.  ASKDISHA Chatbot was initially launched in English language but in order to further enhance the customer services rendered and to further strengthen the services of the chatbot, IRCTC has now powered voice-enabled ASKDISHA to converse with customers in the Hindi language. IRCTC plans to launch ASKDISHA in more languages along with many other additional features in the near future. The chatbot is a special computer programme designed to simulate conversation with users, especially over the internet. The first-of-its-kind initiative by IRCTC is aimed at facilitating accessibility by answering users’ queries pertaining to various services offered to railway passengers. Since its initial launch, more than 150 million passengers have been benefited by ASKDISHA with 10 billion interactions for seeking help on the reservation of tickets, cancellation, enquiry of refund status, fare, PNR search, train running status, enquiry about retiring rooms and tourism products.

  India will switch to the world’s cleanest petrol and diesel from April 1 as it leapfrogs straight to Euro-VI emission compliant fuels from Euro-IV grades now. India will join the select league of nations using petrol and diesel containing just 10 parts per million of sulphur as it looks to cut vehicular emissions that are said to be one of the reasons for the choking pollution in major cities. Bharat stage-VI (BS-VI) has a sulphur content of just 10 ppm and emission standards are as good as CNG. State-owned oil refineries spent about 35,000 crore rupees to upgrade plants that could produce ultra-low sulphur fuel.
