  One of the most well known paranormal investigator, Lorraine Warren passed away at the age of 92. She investigated haunted houses and other manifestation of paranormal activities throughout her life with her late husband Ed. Warren. Both wife and husband founded the New England Society at Monroe, Connecticut in 1952 to investigate haunting cases. Famous horror movies like ‘Amityville Horror’ and ‘Conjuring’ were inspired by her work.

 America’s first female astronaut candidate, pilot Jerrie Cobb passed away in Floridaat the age of 88 following a brief illness. In 1961, Cobb became the first woman to pass astronaut testing. Altogether, 13 women passed the arduous physical testing and became famous as the Mercury 13.

  Scotland all-rounder Con de Lange who had been diagnosed with a brain tumour has passed away at the age of 38. The South Africa-born de Lange played 21 internationals for Scotland, making his debut in a T20I against Ireland in June 2015.

  Former Director of Indian Space Research Organisation Satellite Centre (ISAC), SK Shivakumar died at the age of 66 in Bengaluru. He hailed from Mysuru, Karnataka. He was part of the team which had developed telemetry system for India’s first moon mission Chandrayan – I. He contributed to several missions like Bhaskara, INSAT, IRS-1B, and IRS-1C. He was Padma Shree awardee and also honored with Karnataka Rajyotsava award (2008).

  Biologist Sydney Brenner who helped decipher the genetic code and jointly won the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, passed away at the age of 92. He had jointly won the Nobel Prize for “discoveries concerning genetic regulation of organ development and programmed cell death”. Born in South Africa, Brenner was an alumnus of Oxford University.
