 Ramchandra Singhdeo, former and first Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh, passed away in Raipur. He was the Finance Minister in the cabinet of the then Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.

 Hindi poet Gopal Das Neeraj passed away in New Delhi after a prolonged illness. He was 94. His famous poetic works include Asawari, Lahar Pukare and Paran Geet. Born in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, he also created a name for his lyrics for films like Prem Pujari, Tere Mere Sapne, Chanda Aur Bijli and Sharmili. He won 3 Filmfare awards and penned some of the all-time hits like Likhe jo khat tujhe. He was conferred with Padma Shri in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2007.

 Veteran actor Rita Bhaduri passed away after fighting a kidney-related ailment for many days. She was 62 years old.  The popular character actor who has worked in both films and TV was still active and was playing the grandmother’s role in Star Bharat’s Nimki Mukhiya. She was from the 1973 batch of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.

 Kannada poet and film song lyricist M.N. Vyasa Rao passed away in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He was 73. He was also a recipient of the Karnataka Rajya Sahitya Academy award for his short story collection titled Maleyalli Neneda Maragalu.

 Spiritual leader Dada Vaswani passed away at the age of 99 in Pune, Maharashtra. He was chief of Sadhu Vaswani Mission in Pune that is named after his uncle TL Vaswani. Acclaimed as a humanitarian, philosopher, educator, orator and non-sectarian spiritual leader, Vaswani was also known for promoting vegetarianism and animal rights.

 Tony Award winner Liliane Montevecchi, the Paris-born dancer, actor, and singer, passed away at the age of 85 following a battle with colon cancer. Born October 13, 1932, started her ballet studies when she was nine; by the time she was 18 she had joined Roland Petit's dance company, Les Ballets de Paris, where she eventually became a prima ballerina.

 Award-winning American poet and writer Donald Hall passed away at the age of 89. He was the United States Poet Laureate for 2007-’08 and received the Robert Frost Medal in 1991 and the National Medal of Arts, the nation’s highest honour for artists, in 2010.  Hall began writing when he was just 12 years old. Over the course of a career that spanned more than seven decades, he wrote more than 40 books, half of which were works of poetry.

 Australian golfing legend Peter Thomson has passed away aged 88 following a battle with Parkinson's disease. Thomson won five British Open titles in the 1950s and 1960s and is the only player since the turn of the 20th century to win golf's oldest major championship three times in a row.

 United States political commentator and Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Krauthammer passed away at the age of 68. The columnist died of cancer of the small intestine. Krauthammer’s column has been published in The Washington Post since 1984, and he regularly appeared as political analyst on Fox News.

 Noted mimicry artiste Nerella Venumadhav had passed away after a brief illness in Warangal city. He was 85.  Venumadhav served as MLC in 1971 in undivided Andhra Pradesh. He rose to international fame after his enthralling performance at the United Nations. He has conferred scores of awards, including the Padma Shri in 2001.
