  Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar launched 'Samagra Shiksha scheme' for school education. The scheme focuses on improving quality of education, enhancing the Learning outcomes and using technology to empower children and teachers.
An annual grant of 5,000 to 20,000 rupees will be provided for strengthening libraries in schools. The scheme will be focused on digital education. Samagra Shiksha is a program that unifies learning from the pre-school to class 12 levels and encapsulates elements of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamk Shiksha Abhiyanand teacher education.

  The Ministry of Commerce & Industry of India, along with Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia organized the 5th India-CLMV Business Conclave in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. After four rounds of the Business Conclave in India, this initiative was brought by Department of Commerce of Government of India to Cambodia, for greater participation from the region.  The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was the institutional partner of the event. The inaugural session of the Conclave was attended by Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry.  Ministers of Commerce and Industry and Trade of Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Lao PDR were also present on this occasion.

  A new video campaign has been launched targeting football fans on the occasion of the World Cup 2018 to promote healthier and more active lives.  The series of videos have been produced jointly by World Health Organization (WHO), Russia’s Ministry of Health and the 2018 World Cup Russia Local Organising Committee. It is one of many joint activities that will be implemented around the month-long World Cup starting from 14th of June. The campaign consists of 3 videos, each tackling key health risk issues of Tobacco use, excessive salt consumption and physical inactivity.

 A three-day Smart Cities India 2018 Expo, began in New Delhi. The mega event, consisting five expos is being held with a vision to help develop attractive and safe cities that evoke pride, passion and a sense of belonging among citizens. The five expos are Building India Expo, Solar India Expo, Transport India Expo, Smart Cities India Expo and Water India Expo. Over 300 exhibitors from different countries are participating in the 4th edition of this event.

   NITI Aayog and ABB India have signed a pact to help the country derive the benefits of latest technologies including robotics and artificial intelligence. The Statement of Intent to work together to realise the ambitious make in India vision of the government was signed in the presence of NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant.
NITI Aayog and ABB will work with government ministries, solicit feedback for areas critical to them and discuss solutions using industrial automation, and digitalization technologies. The initiative also covers the fast-growing segment of electric mobility.

  Prime Minister had chaired twenty-sixth interaction through PRAGATI. He Reviewed progress of handling and grievance redressal related to post offices and railways. He also reviewed nine infrastructure projects in Railways, Road, Petroleum and Power sectors.
The Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi also discussed a number of other issues besides financial matters.

  Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi presented the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar 2017 to the members of the INSV Tarini team in New Delhi. The Six-member all-women team led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi have received the Puraskar from the Minister.
The crew of the Indian Navy Sailing Vessel 'Tarini' is a part of the Indian Navy’s unique project 'Navika SagarParikrama', an all-women team circumnavigating the globe, promoting ocean sailing activities in the Navy and depicting Government of India'scommitment towards women empowerment.

  Leading digital financial services platform, MobiKwik, announced the launch of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on its platform via its own Virtual payment address (VPA) handle @ikwik. MobiKwik's users can, by default, use their mobile number as their own VPA which will be '@ikwik'.
hey will also be able to link multiple bank accounts with just one VPA and users can change primary account as per their requirements. MobiKwik is the first in the industry to offer UPI access to a huge base of three million merchants on its app.

 India rose one place to 44th this year in the global competitive rankings out of 63 countries that were ranked by the IMD World Competitiveness Center. India started from the 40th position in 2013 and dropped to the 44th rank in 2014. India’s rank remained at 44 in 2015 and jumped four places to 41 in 2016, dropping to 45 in 2017, and rising to 44 in 2018. In contrast, China bagged the 13th rank in 2018 as compared to the 18th rank in 2016.

 India ranks 145th among 195 countries in terms of quality and accessibility of healthcare, according to a Lancet study. In 2016, India’s healthcare access and quality scored at 41.2 (up from 24.7 in 1990). India lags behind China (48), Sri Lanka (71), Bangladesh ( 133) and Bhutan (134). 
The top 3 countries with the highest levels of healthcare access and quality in 2016:
1. Iceland (97.1 points),
2. Norway (96.6),
3. The Netherlands (96.1),
The countries with the lowest scores:
1. The Central African Republic (18.6),
2. Somalia (19.0),
3. Guinea-Bissau (23.4),
The study found that China and India had the widest disparities in healthcare access and quality with 43.5 and 30.8 point differences, respectively.
