 The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed across the world on August 9 with an aim to strengthen international cooperation for solving problems faced by indigenous peoples in areas such as human rights, the environment, education, health and social development. The theme of 2018 International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples was ‘Indigenous peoples’ migration and movement’.

 World Day against Trafficking in Persons is organized across the world by the United Nations on 30 July to Combat Trafficking in Persons, urging Governments worldwide to take coordinated and consistent measures to defeat this scourge. The theme for World Day against Trafficking in Persons is ‘Responding to the trafficking of children and young people’.  In 2013, the General Assembly held a high-level meeting to appraise the Global Plan of Action. Member States also adopted the resolution and designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons.

 International Tiger Day is being celebrated every year on 29 July to raise awareness about tiger conservation. In Madhya Pradesh, State Tiger Foundation Society of Forest Department has organized wall painting competition in 6 cities to raise awareness and support for tiger conservation. As per latest tiger counting (in 2014), Madhya Pradesh has 308 big cats. India’s track record with tiger populations has been encouraging. India is home to 70% of tigers in the world.

 India on July 26 celebrated the 19th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas to mark the success of ‘Operation Vijay’ and to remember the supreme sacrifice of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the 1999 India-Pakistan Kargil War. The Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman paid homage to the martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas at Amar Jawan Jyoti in New Delhi. Armed Forces personnel and families of soldiers who lost their lives in 1999 Kargil War paid their tributes at the Dras War Memorial in Jammu and Kashmir to commemorate the historic win. Operation Safed Sagar was successfully launched by Indian Air Force during Kargil war. 
Four Param Vir Chakras were awarded to:
  •  Captain Vikram Batra, 13 JAK Rifles, Posthumous,
  •  Lieutenant Manoj Kumar Pandey, 1/11 Gorkha Rifles, Posthumous,
  •  Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, 13 JAK Rifles,
  •  Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, 18 Grenadiers.

      Nelson Mandela International Day 2018 is observed internationally on 18th July. This year marks 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela (18 July 1918).  The Nelson Mandela Foundation is dedicating this year's Mandela Day to 'Action Against Poverty', honouring Nelson Mandela's leadership and devotion to fighting poverty and promoting social justice for all. November 2009 - in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom, UN General Assembly declares 18 July "Nelson Mandela International Day".

     National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has completed 36 years of service to the nation and celebrated the 37th Foundation Day on 12th July. A national seminar on 'Collectivisation and Market linkages: Farmers Producers Organizations' was organized in Mumbai. The Bank has been entrusted with "matters concerning policy, planning and operations in the field of credit for agriculture and other economic activities in rural areas in India".

    World Population Day was established by the then-governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. The theme of WPD 2018 is 'Family Planning is a Human Right'. This day seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues.  This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1968 International Conference on Human Rights, where family planning was, for the first time, globally affirmed to be a human right.

     The International Day of Cooperatives is observed across the world on July 7 with an aim to promote the co-operative model, since it contains aspects of sustainable development at its core and is based on ethical values and principles. The 2018 theme of the Day is the ‘Sustainable societies through cooperation’.  This year’s theme was aimed at creating the sustainable societies through cooperation.

     The National Doctors’ Day is observed every year on 1 July across India to express gratitude and acknowledge the dedication and commitment of the doctors’ towards our society. The observance of the day honours legendary physician and West Bengal’s second Chief Minister, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy whose birth and death anniversary coincides on the same day. Indian Medical Association (IMA’s) theme for 2018 National Doctors’ Day is ‘Zero tolerance to violence against doctors and clinical establishment’,
    • Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy
    He was born on 1 July 1882 in Patna, Bihar and died on 1 July 1962 in Kolkata, West Bengal.  He was highly respected physician and a renowned freedom fighter. He was the second Chief Minister of West Bengal and remained in his post for 14 years from 1948 until his death in 1962. He is often considered the great architect of West Bengal. He had founded five cities of West Bengal Durgapur, Bidhannagar, Ashokenagar, Kalyani and Habra. He was also a member of the Brahmo Samaj. He was an alumnus of the Medical College Calcutta of the University of Calcutta. He was awarded Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award in 1961. The Union Government has instituted Dr BC Roy National Award in his memory. He was instrumental in formation of Indian Medical Association (IMA) in 1928 and also in establishment of Medical Council of India (MCI). The National Doctor’s Day was established by Central Government in 1991 to be recognized and celebrated every year on 1st of July i.e. on the birth and death anniversary of the most famous physician of India Dr. B C Roy.

     The Government of India has announced that 1st of July shall be commemorated as ‘GST Day’. Union Minister for Railways, Coal , Finance & Corporate Affairs  Shri Piyush Goyal will preside over as the Chief Guest of the event and Minister of State for Finance, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla will be the Guest of Honour. The government of India is celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) coming into force on 1st July 2017. Four Laws namely CGST Act, UTGST Act, IGST Act and GST (Compensation to States) Act were passed by the Parliament and since been notified on 12th April, 2017. All the other States (except Jammu & Kashmir) and Union territories with legislature have passed their respective SGST Acts.
