  The National Statistics Day is observed across India on June 29 with an aim to create public awareness about the importance of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation. The theme selected for the 2018 Statistics Day is ‘Quality Assurance in Official Statistics’.  The objective of the celebration of this Day is to acknowledge the contribution of Prof. PC Mahalanobis and to pay homage to him.  On the occasion, Vice President of India released a commemorative coin of Rs 125 and circulation coin of Rs 5 denomination as a mark of respect/homage to Prof. Mahalanobis.

 The General Assembly of United Nations has decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse. The theme for 2018 is: "Listen First - Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe."

  International Widows' Day is a global awareness day that takes place annually on 23rd June. The United Nations General Assembly decided to observe International Widows’ Day on 23 June each year to give special recognition to the situation of widows of all ages and across regions and cultures.

 The 4th International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the globe on 21st of June. In India Prime Minister Narendra Modi led thousands of people in performing yoga asanas, in the main event organised at Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The theme for Yoga Day 2018 is "Yoga for Harmony and Peace". In 2015, United Nations General Assembly unanimously announced 21st June as the International day for yoga to raise awareness about the benefits of practising yoga. The resolution was co-sponsored in the General Assembly by 177 nations, the highest ever number of co-sponsors for any UNGA resolution of such nature.

  The World Music Day is celebrated across the world on 21 June. The day is also known as 'Fete de la Musique' after a music festival that began in France in 1982. This Day was first celebrated on 21st June 1982.

 Every year, on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The theme of the World Blood Donors Day 2018 is ‘Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life’.  The event serves to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood and to raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations.

 The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002 to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it. Every year on June 12 the World Day Against Child Labor is observed to raise awareness of the plight of child laborers worldwide. This year, the World Day Against Child Labour and the World Day for Safety and Health at Work shine a spotlight on the global need to improve the safety and health of young workers and end child labour.

World Environment Day is the "people's day" for doing something to take care of the Earth. World Environment Day occurs on the 5th of June every year. Each World Environment Day is organized around a theme that focuses attention on a particularly pressing environmental concern. The theme for the World Environment Day 2018, "Beat Plastic Pollution".
