 Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh announced that Chhattisgarh is the first among the 28 other states in the country to provide Right to Skills’ Development to the youth. The Chief Minister along with Union Minister of State for Skill Development Anant Kumar Hegde flagged off fifteen Skill Chariots to launch the government’s project of ‘Skills on Wheels’ in the state. The chariots aimed at creating awareness regarding the project will tour 13 districts in the first phase and the rest 14 in the second phase.

 Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar flagged off the Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s app-based taxi service called ‘GOAMILES’ in Panaji. It would ensure that commuters are not cheated as there would be transparency in fares for the customers. It will also ensure the increase in earnings of taxi drivers by “two to three” times.

 The world's first-ever thermal battery plant was unveiled in Andhra Pradesh by the state’s Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Manufactured by the Bharat Energy Storage Technology Private Limited (BEST), the first-of-its-kind batteries will aim to boost renewable sources of energy production and reduce the dependence on non-renewable fossil fuel-based energy generation. The technology, which will help in mitigating carbon emissions, is best suited for grid balancing and stabilisations. It will also be used to store energy for telecommunication, commercial establishments, electric vehicles and highway charging stations.

 Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched ‘horn not ok’ awareness campaign and ‘shaur nahin’ (no noise) mobile application in state capital Shimla. The campaign aims to spread awareness of unnecessary blowing horn as it creates unnecessary noise pollution and is harmful to health. The first phase of campaign has been launched in Shimla and Manali.

The mobile application is initiative of department of environment science and technology in association with National Informatics Centre (NIC), Himachal Pradesh. The app will enable general public to report cases of noise pollution. It has settings for two types of users general public and officers both of whom will be authenticated with an one-time password (OTP). Complaints received through this app will be immediately made available to concerned deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, sub-divisional magistrate and sub-divisional police officer who can later respond with the action taken report on the application itself.

 Andhra Pradesh Government has approved Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestam, an unemployment allowance scheme to provide Rs 1000 per month unemployed youth in state. It was announced by Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh who is also son of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The scheme aims to provide Rs 1000 per month unemployed youth in the state. The allowance will directly credited in bank accounts of selected beneficiary through biometric authentication in transparent manner. It will not be applicable to those paying provident fund. The scheme will benefit 12 lakh youth in the 22-35 years age group from state. Registration for enrolling into scheme will start from either third or fourth week of August 2018. The website for the same will be launched in which the unemployed youth would register their details Simultaneously, State Government impart skill development and train youth in fields of their interests. It is also planning to roll out apprenticeship programme by integrating state and central schemes through which the youth can get on-job training and upgrade their skills.

 Rajasthan has become the first State in the country to implement the national policy on biofuels unveiled by the Centre this year. The desert State will lay emphasis on increasing production of oilseeds and establish a Centre for Excellence in Udaipur to promote research in the fields of alternative fuels and energy resources.  The policy on biofuels seeks to help farmers dispose of their surplus stock in an economic manner and reduce the country’s oil import dependence.

 Rajasthan Government signed an MoU with a private trust Sohanlalji Buladeviji Ojha Gaushala Samiti to build its first 'Cow Sanctuary', a shelter for 10000 cows.  The cow sanctuary will be spread over an area of more than 220 hectares in Bikaner district. This will be the first cow sanctuary in Rajasthan and will be situated in Bikaner’s Napasar.

 Actress Kangana Ranaut and Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh launched a smartphone distribution scheme called 'Mobile Tihar' under Sanchar Kranti Yojna. The scheme includes distribution of smartphones to 45 lakh women and 5 lakh children, and setting up of 556 new mobile towers. The Chhattisgarh government is working towards improving network connectivity and empowering youth with smartphones.

 Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh launched the Meghalaya Milk Mission in Shillong. The mission will facilitate in achieving the Centre’s goal of doubling farmer’s income by 2022 through the promotion of milk business in the state. The amount sanctioned for the project is of Rs 215 crores through National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). The amount will be utilised for various training under dairy farm, chilling centre and purchase of milch animal. The Milk Mission will enable the state to substitute the import of milk with the state’s own production.

Milk Mission has been conceptualised to plug demand-supply gap in per capita milk availability. The per capita milk availability in Meghalaya is much lower than Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR’s) recommendation of milk consumption per person. It will help in achieving Centre’s goal of doubling farmer’s income by 2022 through promotion of milk business in the state. It will generate alternate livelihoods for rural people of Meghalaya through diary sector. 2000 farmers will be directly benefitted by it over next four years. It will also check absence of organised marketing channels in dairy sector in Meghalaya. It will enable state to substitute import of milk with state’s own production. The project consists of 2000 dairy farm units, in one unit there is provision for purchase of 5 cows, shed constructions, storage room construction, animal insurance, 13 milk tankers of 3000 litre capacity, 79 bulk milk coolers of 500 litre capacity etc. There is also provision of Rs 1 crore for training of farmers in project.
