Walking through crowded areas of any one city in India, some of the prominent sign boards are in the name of foreign universities for which degrees will be given by the institutes. Now these universities are giving their degrees through universities or deemed universities in India of 150 universities which are collaborating, more than 75 have no accreditation and they have no standing in their own countries.

One of the bills introduced in the Parliament by the Ministry of Human Resources is for regulating These institutions. The Ministry is also keen to collaborate with the famous institution in other countries.

The root cause for the sudden rise in the cost of medical treatment is the system of private education. To take a post-garduate degree and further specialise in different branches, one pays about 20 to 50 lakhs of rupees or more.

This amount can be paid only by very rich parents. This money is recuperated by the doctors in private hospitals by charging the patients.

Services in government hospitals are very cheap (or even free) and the doctors are highly reputed in various specialities. The medical facilities are also excellent. Then why do people go to private institutions? It is only because there are not sufficient number of government hospitals and sufficient beds in the reputed hospitals. We need more government hospitals and every private hospitals or clinic which is providing excellent services at reduced cost (there are many in India), should be supported by the government by giving them equipments, buildings and medicines.

We do not have any theological reservations that we should be treated only by allopathy. In every hospital the system useful for a particular disease can be used.

Initiative and support by the government is not interference, to fact the effort by the government in raising the standard is an encouragement for private enterprises to serve the people better.
