Today at least for India corruption is the password, an oft-heard subject of discussions and conversations on all kinds of forums and platforms. The simple layman's definition of corruption is lo gel a job done in a wrong and unethical way.  The first thing that we should analyze is that why do we do any work in a wrong way? It was the month of May. It was very hot day. I heard a loud noise. I got up and ran outside I saw that a house of my neighbour was on fire. The flames were rising to the sky. Everyone feared that the fire would spread the whole locality. Many people were running with buckets full of water and bags full of sand. They were throwing water on the fire. Many men, women and children had gathered. Soon two fire-engineers reached the spot. The firemen began to throw a lot of water with their pipes. They entered the burning house. They helped the family to come out. Fortunately no one was killed. It took the fire brigade about half an hour to control the fire. Luckily, there was no loss of life. Whenever I am reminded of the scene, my heart begins to sink.

Trees are extremely important for us. They give us shade, fruit, gum and medicines. Leaves of some trees are used as fodder for animals. The most important thing that the trees give us is oxygen. In the light of the sun, they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen which is essential for the life of all living beings. Thus, they keep the atmosphere clear. This process is known as photosynthesis. Trees cause coolness in the air. This helps in causing rain. Thus, the regions such as the Sahara and Rajasthan where trees are sparse have only scanty rainfall. Trees also help in checking soil erosion, mostly; there is a thick undergrowth below and around the trees. This happens most often in forest areas. Because of this undergrowth, soil does not get eroded quickly. This undergrowth also helps in controlling floods. The rushing water of rivers and rivulets, more...
