Alternative Medicine is a kind of diagnostic technique and method of treatment whose theory develops from accepted medical methods. Alternative medicine is often treated as a substitute of conventional medical treatments. It includes treatments like Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Osteopathy, Unani, Acupuncture, Anthroposophic medicine, Chiropractic, Herbalism, Naturopathy, Yoga and Meditation, Hypnosis, and traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine. When alternative medicine is used in combination with conventional medicine for treatment, it is known as complementary medicine. Alternative medicine is often opposed to evidence based medicine and encompasses therapies with a historical or cultural, rather than a scientific, basis. Alternative medicine practices are as diverse in their foundations as in thei methodologies, and they vary from country to country. Practices may incorporate or base themselves on traditional medicine, folk knowledge, spiritual beliefs, or newly conceived approaches to healing. I have many friends at school and I love to play with them. In my neighborhood also there are many children who are my friends. But although I value their friendship a lot, I have another friend who is the dearest of all. That friend is my library. I have built a little library of my own at home. Ever since I was born my parents have been collecting books for me. It began with books teaching the alphabet. Then came numbers. Gradually I had books with short stories. My mother used to read them to me at bed time. Now I have fairy tales, folk tales from different parts of the world, fun books, books on geography, science, history and literature, all of which are presented in the form of a story. I love books. On my holidays I pick up any book and get so engrossed in it more...

A Hobby That I Enjoy My favorite past time is to spend time at the computer, even at a tender age I like computer systems. To having a computer was a dream, an almost impossible dream. I had a friend named George at that time, we were in the same school, same grade and we had a very good relationship. At that time he had a computer system and we spend our free time playing games, printing greeting cards, banners, we also did our school home work. It was very nice and playful even then I yearned to own my own computer, so I could spend more time learning how to use the computer. But I liked to have my own computer so I can do my own printings and spend more time learning how to use the computer. One day my parents went for a trip without me because more...

Mother Teresa was born in Yugoslavia on 26th August 1910. She became a nun at the age of 18. She came to India as a Loretto sister to teach in Loretto convents in Kolkata. If by some miracle I became the minister of education I would bring many changes in the education system of India. The first reform that I would bring about would be the abolishing of the examination system. At the end of every lesson that we study in class we have a test and at the end of a term we have to take an exam. Examinations are nothing but a test of our memories. A child who is good at memorizing notes can easily score well at the exam. It is not absolutely necessary that he may have understood all that he read. That proves the futility of exams. The course should be read by students in such a way that they can really understand what they read and there can be a practical or oral assessment of the lesson. I would reduce the number of students in each class. more...
