The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, which was passed by the Indian Parliament on 4 August 2009, describes the modalities of the provision of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 under Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution. The Act came into force on 1 April 2010 and India became one of the 135 countries which have made education a fundamental right of every child. The Act is the enabling legislation to notify the 86th Constitutional Amendment passed by Parliament in December 2002 that specified the need for a legislation to describe the mode of implementation of education as a fundamental right. Like all the class-rooms in our school, my class-room isvery spacious. It is airy and well ventilated. My class-room is situated in the eastern wing of theschool. I am very careful about my health. I take my mealsregularly and exercise daily. It is rare that I fall ill. I do not like sickness but it does not care for your likes and dislikes. For me sickness means being idle and lonely. Realized it only a few days back when I fell. I remember that evening when it rained heavily and together her with my two friends I went outside. Since 1988, the World AIDS Day is held on December I every year. It is an international day to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS around the world.
